Swim Care Boambee centre was built in 2005. Swim Care actually started in 2001 in the backyard of the Bell’s house. Lori was the only instructor and receptionist. It was started from scratch with a local letter box drop and word of mouth from there. As time went on, the number of students quickly grew. Lori had two more children and couldn’t just stop the young swim school and disappoint the children, so Lori changed roles and focussed on the administration/reception side. Troy and two other teachers, Beth and Helen joined the team; and as time went on, others joined as well. With a drive to serve people well, Swim Care was soon bursting at the seams. Troy and Lori decided to build the centre on the other side of the property.
Once the arduous task of building the centre was finished, more students were able to be taught to swim in the purpose built learn to swim centre. We are very proud of our centre, and never stop trying to improve ourselves.
IN 2016, Swim Care was approached by the owners of the Moonee Market place to set up a second location there. They appreciated the reputation Swim Care had acquired mainly through word of mouth. It is a great opportunity to teach more children to gain the life saving skills gained through a quality swim program.
We opened Swim Care Moonee in February 2017. Recognisable icons of a Swim Care Learn to Swim centre are our 600 deep pool (a first in Coffs Harbour) , our realistic aquatic murals, our play areas, and really friendly staff. It’s all about letting everyone feel welcome and relaxed. Our main value for money however, is our program which has been developed to see kids progress through the levels quickly.
